Hayner’s Drawing Room Chamber concert for February will feature a gifted pianist from Korea, Dr. Ji Hyang Gwak. Dr. Gwak has performed throughout the world including Czechoslovakia, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and Korea. She holds a Bachelor of Music in piano performance, summa cum laude, from Seoul National University and a Master of Music from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance from the University of Michigan. She has won many awards for her technical mastery including the Olga Kern, the Sicily, the Franz Liszt, the Concours Musical and the Lyon International competitions. The Drawing Room Chamber Concert Series takes place on the last Tuesday of most months in the school year. This season the series will be hosted by Eric Knorr. Eric is an accomplished soloist, a collaborative musician and an educator. He is currently Senior Lecturer in Trumpet in the Department of Music at the University of Dayton. The Drawing Room Chamber Concert series is presented free to the public through the generosity of the citizens of Troy, our loyal sponsors and the Friends of Hayner members.
